Staff Biographies

Justin Durga:

Justin Durga and Jordan Durga created the Durga Insurance Group in 2017 with the goal of building something different, something to set themselves apart from the hundreds and even thousands of different insurance companies and agencies.  Their mission is to provide financial security to Michigan families through building relationships with clients and understanding their individual needs, plans and aspirations.  It is for that reason that they chose to partner with Farm Bureau Insurance, Michigan’s Insurance Company to provide some of the best home, auto, life, farm and commercial insurance available to Michiganders!  There are no fancy price guns or lizards. Instead the Durga Insurance Group focuses on each family through a Trusted Advisor role to provide insurance recommendations to best protect your family’s financial security.

As a life-long member of this community, Justin and his family appreciate all that West Michigan has to offer. Justin graduated from Shelby High School in 2003. From there he went on to play golf at Muskegon Community College, then obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baker College.  After college he became a PGA golf professional and spent 10 years in the golf industry.  Deciding to leave golf, he went into supply chain management with Arconic in Whitehall for 3 years.  While at Arconic he realized how much he missed being in the customer service industry and after careful planning insurance was clearly the best way for him to serve the amazing area of West Michigan again.

Justin feels fortunate to be given the opportunity to serve and give back to the community that has given his family so much.  Please consider him and his team for your insurance needs.

 

Jordan Durga:

Before founding the Durga Insurance Group, Jordan was a 2006 graduate from Shelby High School and then received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Baker College.  Following college, Jordan spent a few years working as a Finance Analyst for a large manufacturing company in West Michigan.  However, there was a strong desire to return to a client focused industry and that desire led to founding the Durga Insurance Group, joining Farm Bureau Insurance and working with Michigan families daily. 

In his personal time, Jordan enjoys spending time with his wife Sara and chasing after their two kids, Bella and Nolan.  Jordan is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time outdoors during the warm summer months.  He was born in West Michigan and has spent his entire life enjoying what West Michigan has to offer to him and his family.  He counts it not only as a blessing to live in West Michigan, but to also have the opportunity to protect the families of West Michigan every day!   

Alex Gillish:

Hello, I’m Alex Gillish.

As a solicitor for Farm Bureau Insurance at the Durga Insurance Group in Norton Shores, I am able to provide some of the best home, auto, life, farm and commercial insurance available here in Michigan.

I am a 2009 Montague High School graduate where I was an active member of my community. I participated in many extracurricular activities including; The Muskegon County Community Foundation, DECA, track, golf, basketball, and was a senior on Montague’s first state championship winning football team. After graduation, I attended Central Michigan University where I studied Biology and worked in a research laboratory at the College of Medicine.

Following completion of my bachelor’s degree, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I began working in the customer service industry. In 2016 I moved to Grand Junction, Colorado where I was hired by Furniture Row and quickly advanced within the company. As the assistant manager at my store, I helped to lead my team to success, while learning a great deal about management and what it takes to succeed in an exceedingly competitive business environment. I moved home in early 2019 to be closer to my family and friends and I am excited about the opportunity to serve my community. Please contact me with your insurance needs!

 

Kendra Terrell:

Hello, I'm Kendra Terrell.

As an agent for the Durga Insurance Group (Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan) in Norton Shores, I can provide life, home, auto, farm, and commercial insurance.

Throughout its history, Farm Bureau Insurance has recognized the special needs of the people of Michigan, and our agency works hard to embrace and build on that. While we all need insurance protection, each of us is unique. As my client, the best way to serve you is to understand your needs as an individual and then match those needs with the appropriate products. As one of my insureds, you can always expect fast, fair, and honest treatment.

I was born and raised right here in West Michigan, specifically Muskegon Heights. As long-time members of this community, my family and I appreciate all that Muskegon and the surrounding areas have to offer. I graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School where I was a standout athlete. I went on to play basketball at both Muskegon Community College and Central Michigan University, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. I have four sons and although my three oldest attend Mona Shores Schools, through coaching over the years and close family members in sports, I have ties to nearly all the local school systems. I love Muskegon and am honored to serve this community.

I will go the extra mile to give you the peace of mind that comes with our comprehensive coverage plans.

I am a proud graduate of Oakridge High School and a lifelong resident of Muskegon. As a mother of an active toddler, I understand your busy lifestyle needs. I can answer your questions with clear, concise information on a schedule that works for you. My duties at the Durga Insurance Group encompass soliciting, marketing and front-line customer service.
